The risk of mental health problems is very high among refugees who have migrated from their country due to persecution, violence or war. Some laws protect, nationally and internationally, the right to health of these people. However, few theoretical and practical tools are available to assess their mental health. One of these is the Refugee Health Screener-15 (RHS-15), which allows early signs of trauma to be detected.
In collaboration with the UONPIA of the Policlinico di Milano, we analysed the effectiveness of the RHS-15 in a sample of 81 unaccompanied foreign minors. The results are encouraging.
Our research process and outcomes are summarised in a paper published in the 7/2023 issue of the Journal of Health and Migration and now available on Academia.
